Other than admirals, Boka Navy also appoints little admirals, who accompany admirals during public performances Their main duty is to, every year on January 27th – eight days before St. Tryphon’s Day, recite lode to town’s patron St. Tryphon from the loggia of the Cathedral.

Even though the tradition of appointing little admirals is an age-old one, the exact year when it was established remains unknown It is assumed that this took place during the Venetian rule, although some indications suggest little admirals had been appointed at an even earlier date, only under a different title These were young boys who would wear traditional dress and accompany the Admiral It is certain to say the concept of little admirals can be traced to 15th century They represent a symbol of continuity among the generations within the organization

In modern times, little admirals are chosen from a group of boys aged 6 to 12, usually from families with maritime tradition, regardless of their denomination

The appointment of Little Admiral takes place annually during Karike on January 13th, at the meeting of the Boka Navy Admiralty Little Admiral’s service lasts for a year During the 1946–1990 period, little admirals did not participate in festivities related to St. Tryphon or recite lode
