HISTORY

BOKA NAVY HONORARY ADMIRALS AND VICE ADMIRALS

As of 1964, the statues of Boka Navy allowed for the title of Honorary Admiral and Vice Admiral to be granted to outstanding individuals from various spheres, especially those credited for advancement of Boka Navy and maritime affairs. 

So far, the title of Honorary Admiral was granted to Josip Broz Tito, President of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1972); Luís Cabral, President of Guinea-Bissau (1979); Vidoje Žarković, Chairman of the Executive Council and the People’s Assembly of Montenegro (1986) and Filip Vujanović, President of Montenegro (2016). 

The following individuals were granted the title of Honorary Vice Admiral: Veljko Milatović (1979), Savo Starović (1984), Božidar-Daro Petković (1984), Captain Antun Simović (1991), Captain Nenad Želalić (1996), Luka Maslovar (2004), Dr. Borislav Ivošević (2004), Josip Ribica (2016), Pero Milošević (2016), Slavko Roganović (2016) and Csaba Magyar (2016).
