INTERNAL ORGANIZATION OF BOKA NAVY KOTOR

Boka Navy Kotor is a memorial organization that has continuously preserved the tradition of the fraternity of Boka seafarers, founded in Kotor at the beginning of the 9th century.

 

CENTRAL OFFICE AND BRANCHES

Navy’s central office is situated in Kotor, while it also has three branches: 

-     – Tivat Branch

-     – Herceg Novi Branch

-     – Belgrade Branch

 

COAT OF ARMS

Boka Navy’s coat of arms is the historical crest of the town of Kotor, which bears the inscription “Fides et Honor”. The rectangular flag is 1×1.5 meters in size; it is made of white silk, with the Navy’s coat of arms depicted in the middle.

 

ANTHEM

Anthem of Boka Navy Kotor was composed by an unknown author and is traditionally performed during Boka Navy kolo dance. The lyrics to the anthem are the poem Pjesan, written by Pavo Božov Kamenarović at the end of the 19th century.

 

OFFICIAL DAY

Official day of the Boka Navy is June 26th, when the first Statute of Fraternity of Boka Seafarers of St. Nicholas was adopted in 1463.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the Boka Navy is composed of: regular members, active members, associate members, deserving members, honorary members and honorary officers and noncommissioned officers.
